Children's Liturgy of the Word

Most Sundays of the year during our 10:00 AM family Mass we have a Liturgy of the Word for Young People in the lower level of the rectory. After the Opening Rite of the Mass the children are sent forth with a blessing to hear, as the rest of us do, the readings of the day in a simplified fashion, to listen to a brief age appropriate reflection [homily] and offer prayers. These services are led by adult and older teens who prepare ahead of time, read the gospel and share some thoughts on what the readings can mean in their lives as well as the lives of the young listeners. The children are invited to join in prayer and song and return to the congregation after the Creed.  Parents are always welcome to accompany their children.

Sharing our faith with others, especially with our younger members, is both a joy and a rewarding experience. If you are interested in assisting with the Children's Liturgy of the Word or would like to help lead these services we provide training and some wonderful clear and helpful resources to make for a successful experience.
